在產品研發方面，本人研發了一個能夠察覺拋物線和速度力度的智能手帶，協助飛鏢手正準備訓練自己的動作，該產品亦成功在美國中籌網站Kickstarter籌得款項達標完成中籌項目，讓產品能夠在日本美國幫我其他國家銷售。"

     Company History & Background

     Belton Technology started in 1988 producing coil for hard disk drive ( HDD ) application.
     Over the years, we have went up the product chain producing E-Blk, Actuator, Hook-up
     thus becoming a critical component and supplier in the HDD industry.  We are currently
     the largest Actuator manufacturer with 45% worldwide market share and supporting all
     HDD Customers. Headquartered in Hong Kong, we currently have a total headcount of
     17,000 staff with factories in Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Wuxi, Thailand and Philippines and sales
     office in the USA, Canada, Japan and Singapore.  

     Company Strategy and Approach  

     Our main strategies and approach in achieving growth and becoming the leader of the
     HDD Actuator manufacturer are:
1.    Moving up the product chain, from coil to E-Blk CNC machining, Actuator Assembly, Hookup assembly which adds values and margin to our product.
2.    Vertical Integration approach setting up many supporting process operations such    as tool room, automation, extrusion, plating, plastic injection etc. giving us cost, lead time and quality advantage.
3.    Competition Business acquisition.

      Business Diversification Apart from HDD    

      Concurrently Belton will develop other New Business tapping on current core competent   
      process and facilities.  I have started in Automotive, optical transceiver, mobile phone
      business a few years back and will continue to explore new business options.
      At the same time will also be working up the product chain and co-develop with other
      design centre to produce our own brand products.

     Contribution to HDD Global Growth

     Belton has made remarkable contribution to the HDD industry by preparing our resources
     and setting up new factories to achieve the HDD worldwide business growth.  To sustain
     the business I have also focused on manufacturing excellence to better our operating
     cost and quality performance.  Such continuous improvement effort provide customer
     with consistence quality and pricing  and better their operating performance and cost as
     well.

HDD Technology Roadmap Alignment with Customer
  
Over the years, with more HDD stringent component expectation for dimensional, functional and cleanliness, I have prepared Belton manufacturing sites to meet customer HDD technology roadmap. We invested and developed equipment with higher precision and tolerances, smaller pitch and size component placement. We improved our washing capabilities, clean room facilities and material to better our components cleanliness which is vital for the HDD drive performance.  We co-developed with customer on components testing, finite element analysis to reduce new product development time.  All these apart from quality and operating cost excellence make us the leader for this business for all these years.  
 
HDD Manufacturing / Quality Breakthrough

For manufacturing excellence, Belton has also explored and developed process breakthrough as in multi-assembly station, robotic arms, auto conveyor transporting, automated inspection system thus reducing dependency on manual operations. Such technology activities improved operating efficiency and quality consistency putting Belton in the leadership for quality volumetric manufacturing with competitive pricing.

New Business Diversification

Apart from main HDD core business, I have also worked on new business options and am also co-developing with other design centre new to create our own brand product.

  string(680) "Collaborative Activities within the China Greater Bay Zone

For the China Greater Bay Area Zone, Belton currently has Electroless Nickel Plating facilities, Stampling, Plastic Molding operation in the ZhuHai Factory  and CNC machining in the DongGuan factory, Tooling and automation design in the Shenzhen factory.  As we have embarked on development work with a Japan company in a nano heater for consumer application, I hope to go into production soon and tap on resource in the Greater bay area for such production. I will also be looking at joint collaboration work with the universities in this zone and work with other industries here for mutual support and growth.

Training the Younger Generation

As I have been working in the industry for many years, I believe that people are the most important element in the success of any company. Belton has cooperated with educational establishments such as the Vocational Training Council (VTC) to organize summer placement and training opportunities for students in the company. I have personally participated in the “Shadow Leaders” Mentor Project organized by the Social Welfare Department for eight consecutive years to provide training to the “Workplace Strategy and organize “Interview Skills” seminar for students. I also supported in the Youth New World Charity, to assist students to solve their academic problems.

      Sharing Experiences with Fellow Companies in the Industry

I believe that the experience myself or my fellow colleagues have gained in the industry can be more beneficial if we can share with outside members. I have thus participated in various corporate activities in the society and took up active roles in many business chambers and industrial associations. I have been the Chairman of the 27th Group of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and the Vice President of the Hong Kong Auto Parts Industry Association. I also actively organized seminars and invited fellow members to visit my company and sharing our experiences in Advanced Technologies, Quality, Management and other Best Practices. I hope this sharing can better the industry and we can all grow collectively.

In addition, returning what we have gained from the society is what I believed and I am interested in charity activities to help the needy. We were the title sponsor for ”鄰舍輔導會頌親恩慈善晚宴 2019.” It was an event bringing together 1000 elderly and low income families to a warm dinner and celebrating Mother’s and Father’s Day together.
