Children are the future pillars of society. A child is diagnosed with cancer every two minutes globally, but more than half fail to receive appropriate treatment. The ‘LCI Forward’ programme was set up during the centennial celebration of Lions Clubs International. The programme has listed childhood cancer as one of the five major service areas. To respond to the call, Lions Clubs International District 303 – Hong Kong & Macao, China has organized a variety of childhood cancer services. For example, ‘Lions Walk with Kids with cancer’ was the theme of the ‘Lions Walk’ of 2017-18, which aimed to raise the awareness of Lions and the public on childhood cancer. Apart from childhood cancer patients, recovered patients and their family members, kindergarten students and their parents, primary students and junior secondary students had also participated in the event on that day. This gave spiritual support and encouragement to sick children and their family members.
